Had connected with Garon T through Angie’s in spring. Did good Job then. This time, needed an outdoor line blown out and some plumbing inside fixed. Ken was plumber this time. A very personable guy, and a terrific plumber. We had a few plumbers over the years who checked a problem but could not figure out how to fix a faulty faucet on a tub. Ken figured it out in literally 15 seconds, he ordered the parts while still at our house and we were able to make an appointment to get it fixed. He also explained Garon Ts annual service agreement, which is a great deal. we took it. Ken returned with the parts, fixed the tub faucet and then addressed a problem with boiler that Keith shutting down. He identified the problem but as we discussed the age if both the boiler and water heater I saw it would be wider to replace the system. Again, Ken expedited the details and worked up an estimate. Really the best plumber we’ve had in our homes.

Nick came to my rescue! He found the tiny tiny hole that was causing water on my basement floor. He also changed my whole house water filter as even with the plastic wrench supplied I could not budge it . As with all the Garon T team he was courteous, efficient and talented. Highly recommend this company and all their employees

Common Goodman Error Codes

Error codes on your Goodman air conditioner are indicators of specific issues within the system. Knowing what these codes mean can help you understand the nature of the problem and, in some cases, how to resolve it. Below are some common Goodman error codes you may encounter.

E4 Error Code

The ‘E4’ error code on a Goodman air conditioner refers to a problem with the unit’s outdoor temperature sensor. This sensor monitors the outdoor temperature to ensure that the air conditioner operates efficiently and within safe parameters. When you see the ‘E4’ code, it typically means that the sensor is either malfunctioning or has a poor connection.

Before calling a professional, you can attempt to reset the unit to see if the error clears. If the issue persists, it’s advisable to contact an HVAC technician, as continued operation with a faulty sensor can lead to further complications. E2 Error Code

Encountering an ‘E2’ error code suggests an issue with the indoor temperature sensor of your Goodman air conditioner. The indoor temperature sensor’s role is to measure the temperature of the air within your home to regulate the cooling process effectively. A malfunction in this sensor can result in inadequate cooling or system short cycling.

To address an ‘E2’ error code, ensure that the sensor is not blocked and the air filter is clean to allow proper airflow. If the problem continues, it’s important to seek the assistance of an HVAC professional who can replace the sensor if necessary. For a complete list of error codes, check out the Goodman AC error code list.

E0 Error Code

The ‘E0’ error code is indicative of an EEPROM communication error. The EEPROM is a type of non-volatile memory used in your Goodman air conditioner to store system parameters and settings. Communication errors can be caused by power surges or electronic malfunctions within the unit.

In the event of an ‘E0’ error code, a power reset may resolve the issue. However, if the error code reappears, this may require professional attention to inspect and potentially replace the affected electronic components. Troubleshooting Goodman Error Codes

When your Goodman air conditioner displays an error code, it’s the unit’s way of telling you something is wrong. Understanding these error codes and knowing how to troubleshoot them can save you time and potentially save on repair costs. Below you’ll find common troubleshooting steps for the Goodman air conditioner error codes E4, E2, and E0.

E4 Troubleshooting Steps

The Goodman air conditioner error code E4 typically indicates a problem with your unit’s freeze protection or low refrigerant levels. Here’s what you can do to troubleshoot this issue:

  1. Check the Air Filters: Dirty air filters can restrict airflow, causing the coils to freeze. Ensure your air filters are clean and replace them if necessary.
  2. Inspect the Coils: If the air filters are clean, check the evaporator coils for frost. If you notice any ice, turn off the unit to let it thaw.
  3. Refrigerant Levels: Low refrigerant levels can also lead to an E4 error. This is best checked by a professional due to the complexity and potential hazards of handling refrigerants.
  4. Professional Assessment: If the above steps do not resolve the issue, it’s time to call a professional to inspect your unit for potential leaks or system malfunctions.

E2 Troubleshooting Steps

An E2 error code on a Goodman air conditioner can suggest a problem with the indoor thermostat sensor. To address this error, follow these steps:

  1. Thermostat Sensor: Check the positioning of the sensor. Make sure it’s not touching the evaporator coil or any other component.
  2. Clean the Sensor: Sometimes, cleaning the sensor can solve the issue. Gently wipe it with a soft cloth to remove any dust or debris.
  3. Check Connections: Ensure that the sensor’s wiring connections are secure. Loose connections can cause the E2 error.
  4. Replace the Sensor: If the error persists, the sensor might be faulty and need replacement. Consider calling a technician for this task.

Further details on the E2 error code can be found in the goodman air conditioner error code meanings section.

E0 Troubleshooting Steps

The E0 error code often indicates a communication error within the Goodman air conditioner. To troubleshoot this error, try the following:

  1. Power Cycle the Unit: Turn off your Goodman air conditioner at the circuit breaker, wait for a few minutes, and then turn it back on. This can reset the system and clear the error.
  2. Inspect the Wiring: Look for any loose, damaged, or disconnected wires in the communication system. If you’re not comfortable doing this, it’s best to contact a professional.
  3. Control Board: The issue may sometimes be with the control board itself. If you suspect this is the case, a certified technician should handle the diagnosis and repair.
  4. Professional Help: Persistent communication errors should be addressed by a qualified HVAC technician, as they can be indicative of more complex system issues.
